There have been intense differences between the Taliban's Qatar office and the military commission

According to reports, Mullah Qayyum Zakir, the deputy head of the Taliban's military commission, was fired after deep differences with the Qatar office and was replaced by Mullah Mohammad Yaqub, the son of Mullah Mohammad Omar, in recent days.

According to Pakistan's Samaa TV, Mullah Mohammad Yaqub was previously in charge of the military operations in 15 provinces.

A Taliban source confirmed to Zawia News that Mullah Qayum Zakir had disagreements with the Qatar office's policies and because of that he was fired.

The source, who did not want to be named, said that a delegation led by Mullah Fazil Akhund from the Qatar office had come to Quetta to reconcile with Mullah Qayum Zakir, but no agreement was reached between them.

The source added that the increase in peace talks and some other activities have created some cracks between the Taliban and in the near future, some more changes and appointments will be made.

At the same time, an NDS official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Zawia It has been quite a while since Mullah Yaqub's appointment and Zakir Qayyum's dismissal and they were already aware of this and all the military officials across the provinces are aware of this too.

So far, there is no official statement from the Taliban on this matter.
